After delivering Heat Shields for international CSP projects such as Cerro Dominador in Chile or Luneng HAIXI Project in China, now REFRACTARIS has been awarded with the engineering and manufacturing of the Thermal Heat Shield for the Molten Salt Solar Receiver of the DEWA Project named NOOR ENERGY 1, located in the United Arab Emirates, 50 km south of Dubai.
This is a Hybrid Project including a 250MW PV plant and a 700MW CSP plant, whose EPC contractor is the Chinese Company Shanghai Electric and in which REFRACTARIS will be implicated thanks to a contract signed with the Chinese company Shanghai Boiler Work, which is in charge of the Tower Receiver.
The project - to be developed as part of fourth phase of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park - is the largest single-site concentrated solar power plant in the world, combining a central tower and parabolic trough concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies to collect energy from the sun.
The solar tower, which Thermal Heat Shield will be designed and manufactured by REFRACTARIS, is capable of generating 100MW and will stand 260 meters high, being the world’s tallest solar tower.
REFRACTARIS has already started working on this project, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2020.
China International CSP Conference(CPC2019) is to be held on 10-12,July,in Suzhou, China. During the conference, global CSP professionals will conduct in-depth exchanges with each other about the development of CSP projects.
