Vast Solar closes capital raise to finance it's 30MW Concentrated Solar Power project


Australian concentrated solar power (CSP) company Vast Solar has finalised a capital hike to progress development of its 30-MW solar thermal power reference plant.

SUNCNIM and Banque des Territoires inaugurated the world’s first Fresnel CSP plant with energy storage


Llo, Friday September 20, 2019 – Located in Llo in Cerdagne (Eastern Pyrenees), it is the first thermodynamic Fresnel solar energy concentrator with energy storage in the world. With a power output of 9 MWe and thermal energy storage, i.e. the electricity consumption of more than 6,000 homes, the Llo power plant produces electricity both during the day and part of the night.

Argentina projects a concentrated solar power plant

More than 30 per cent of the work on Phase Four of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world's largest single-site independent power producer (IPP) solar park being built at an investment of Dh50 billion ($13.6 billion), has been completed.

Botswana and Namibia plan to build Concentrated Solar Power plants


The World Economic Forum, the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation, has proposed a new mega-solar expansion plan in Botswana and Namibia that could provide over 4.5 GW of solar capacity to customers in southern and eastern Africa.


MINOS 50MW CSP project was named as the key green project by the Greek Prime Minister


During the International Trade Fair at Thessaloniki, the Prime Minister of Greece made a keynote speech. He specially mentioned the Minos 50MW CSP project, the only power generation project mentioned in his speech. He described it as one of the ‘key green projects’ and as a “strategic investment”.

The 5th CSP project--Luneng Haixi 50MW CSP project successfully connected to the grid


On September 19th, 18:02, Luneng Haixi 50MW CSP project, part of Luneng Haixi Complementary Multi-energy Demonstration Project, was successfully connected to the grid.

POWERCHNIA Gonghe 50MW CSP Project was successfully connected to the grid


On September 19, POWERCHNIA Gonghe 50MW CSP Project was successfully connected to the grid, which is the forth large scale CSP projects in China. With this, the installed capacity of large commercial CSP projects in China will reach 250MW.
