China Energy Engineering Corp Ltd on Monday said it has been awarded a survey and design service contract for the 700MW solar thermal power project in Dubai.
A subsidiary of the company signed the contract recently with Shanghai Electric Hongkong Co Ltd.
Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power and Shanghai Electric Group Co Ltd won the tender to build the 700MW project in September 2017 and the start of construction was announced in March this year. Shanghai Electric is acting as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
The concentrated solar power (CSP) park will be phase IV of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar power complex. It will consist of 100MW central tower CSP technology and three 200MW facilities of parabolic trough CSP technology, and will also have molten salt energy storage.
