Jinfan Delingha 2×50MW Molten Salt Parabolic Trough CSP Project:review meeting of feasibility studies to be held successfully

Reported from CSPPLAZA: On December 12, review meeting of feasibility studies on Jinfan Delingha 2×50MW Molten Salt Parabolic Trough CSP Project was successfully held in Beijing.

The review meeting was presided over by the China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute and representatives from Qinghai Energy Bureau, State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company, Haixi People’s Government and other units attended the feasibility review.

At the meeting, according to China Energy Engineering Group Xinjiang Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as“Xinjiang Institute”)who prepared the project feasibility study report, the project is located in the northwest side of Xuji Township, Delingha City, Qinghai Province, about 40 kilometers away from Delingha city. It adopts the molten salt parabolic trough technology, and plans to install two high-temperature and ultra-high pressure primary intermediate reheat air-cooled condensing steam turbine generators. The project is designed to configure a molten salt thermal storage system for up to 15 hours with a total heat storage capacity of 1915MWth.

The project is scheduled to start in April 2018 and Delingha Jinfan CSP Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ”Delingha Jinfan CSP”) is the construction unit. Delingha Jinfan CSP is wholly-owned by the Tianjin Binhai Concentrating Solar Power Investment Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ”Tianjin Binhai”)and mainly responsible for the development, construction and operation of CSP plants.

It is understood thatin April 2017, Tianjin Binhai formally commissioned the Xinjiang Institute to carry out the feasibility study of this project; Xinjiang Institute set up the project team in the same month to begin the site investigation, and went to the relevant units for a detailed data collection and research; the initial site survey was completed in May; from June to August 2017, the feasibility study report was completed. The preparation of the feasibility study took about 4 months.

During the meeting, the experts discussed in detail the feasibility study report , carried out a comprehensive and meticulous review on the overall contents of the report and put forward specific comments and suggestions. Delingha Jinfan CSP expresses that other work of this project will be actively promoted to prepare for the declaration of the second batch of China’s CSP demonstration projects.
